Faculty
Without the faculty members who work directly with the chapters, Psi Chi would not exist. Faculty advisors keep the organization alive and to a large extent, determine the type of experience members have with the organization.

Only full-time faculty members, holding a doctoral degree in psychology, are eligible to serve as Psi Chi chapter faculty advisors. Faculty advisors are responsible for the day-to-day operation of the chapters. They either handle or set up systems for:

  • recruiting new members
  • organizing activities
  • encouraging members to participate in conventions, submit research papers for publication, and to take advantage of the many benefits of membership.

Faculty Advisor

Agnes Scott College

"I like being a faculty advisor because I get to know the top students in our psychology department. I often ask them to work in my research lab and I offer them internships that I find out about. They are wonderful students to work with.”
