Regional Travel Grants

What is it?

  • Individual grants ranging from $150–$400.
  • Psi Chi makes $33,000 in total funding available each year to assist student members with travel to regional conventions.
  • Funding per region totals $4,500–$6,500. Regionally available amounts are determined by the number of applicants the previous year.

How does it work?

1.
Select a regional convention.

2.
Plan to attend a regional convention and decide how you can share the benefit with others and make a positive impact on your local chapter through your experience.
3.
Submit an application. These are reimbursement grants, meant to defray only partial cost of your travel. Applicants should be prepared to carry some of the financial responsibility without Psi Chi’s aid.
4.Attend the convention, learn from others, return to your chapter, and apply/share what you learned.
5.Submit your forms and travel receipts to the Central Office.
6.
Receive your travel assistance after the convention.

Who Should Apply?

Undergraduate and graduate members of Psi Chi who want to attend an annual regional convention.

"The advice I would give other students who want to apply for a grant would be to just "go for it”. There is no harm in applying, and if you are selected you get to increase your knowledge and professional skills without having to pay for it out of pocket. There is no harm in trying! You are denying yourself a wonderful opportunity to grow as a researcher and psychologist if you don’t at least try.”
