KEEP A DIGITAL EYE ON PSI CHI
In January 2011, Psi Chi's Board of Directors ceased the printing of the Eye on
Psi Chi magazine. They decided to transition it from a print to an exclusively digital/HTML
publication. This move allowed for the Eye on Psi Chi to be available exclusively
as a digital edition, HTML e-mail newsletter, and PDF download. The board believes
this move is a better use of Psi Chi funds, more accessible for members, and environmentally
responsible. By implementing these changes, funds have been reallocated to other
direct member benefits, distribution and delivery are no longer an issue due to
Eye on Psi Chi’s electronic availability, and paper as well as energy has been saved
by cutting the printing and mailing processes. An email of the newsletter is sent
to all members and advisors, and members have the option of downloading specific
articles or the complete issue of the Eye on Psi Chi to create their own digital
library. The most current, complete issue of the di gital Eye on Psi Chi with interactive
links is featured on www.psichi.org.
HAS YOUR CHAPTER VOTED YET?
Chapters need to vote for new members of Psi Chi’s Board of Directors by March 15.
Make sure your chapter conducts this important activity at a chapter meeting before
this deadline. View the candidates’ bios and position statements here
http://psichi.org/PDF/2012elections.pdf , and your advisor can then login
to the website to record your chapter’s vote(s). After your chapter votes, record
the choices for President-Elect and, if applicable, regional Vice-President (this
year the Vice-President elections are in the Southeastern, Southwestern, and Midwestern
regions). Remember, chapters have to vote to be eligible for a Model Chapter award.
Voting closes on March 15.
