Dr. M.L. Corbin Sicoli Retires

M.L. "Candi" Corbin Sicoli, PhD, of West Chester recently retired as professor of psychology at Cabrini College. Dr. Sicoli was the founding advisor to the Cabrini College Chapter of Psi Chi. Her chapter received the Eastern Regional Psi Chi Chapter award at the annual EPAmeeting in Boston in March 2005. Under her leadership, students have won numerous EPA research awards throughout the past 20 years. Dr. Sicoli is retiring after 30 years at Cabrini College and has been awarded Emerita status. In recognition of her dedication to her students, Cabrini College is establishing a books scholarship in her name: the M.L. Corbin Sicoli Books Scholarship.
     During her 30 years at Cabrini, she was awarded the Lindback Award for Distinguished Teaching the first year she was eligible. She cofounded the orientation course for first year students and was invited to present the course nationally and internationally. A licensed/certified psychologist, she was also the first coordinator of psychological services at Cabrini College. She will maintain her private practice in West Chester specializing in evaluation of children, teens, and young adults with learning difficulties. She will also continue her research on the development of musical creativity, with an emphasis on gender trends. In August 2005, she presented her latest research at the annual APA meeting in Washington, D.C.
