The Southeastern Oklahoma State University (SOSU) Chapter of Psi Chi would like to express our great sadness over the loss of our faculty advisor, Dr. Wayne A. Dixon, professor of psychology. Dr. Dixon was not only an advisor, but to those of us who knew him, he was the most caring professor we have ever known. He was always willing to go the extra mile and always placed everyone else above himself.
     On April 13, 2007, we traveled to Oklahoma Christian University in Edmond to participate in the Oklahoma Psychological Society annual conference; an event that meant a great deal to Dr. Dixon. We made this trip with him on our minds and hearts, and we strived to do our best there, as much in honor of his memory as for ourselves.
     Psi Chi was very important to Dr. Dixon, and our officers are doing their very best to ensure Psi Chi stays intact and continues to carry on strongly in the future. Although we can never comprehend the grief of Dr. Dixon's immediate family, including his wife Dr. Diane Dixon and 6 year-old son Michael, we extend our deepest sympathies to them both and the rest of his family and continue to keep them in our thoughts and prayers.
     Regardless of where life may take us, when we look back upon our time at SOSU, a large portion of our fondest memories will be of Dr. Wayne Dixon, and we will never forget him. Though our lives will be just a little bit emptier without him, we can all look back with great fondness at our time with him and forever remember all he did for us..
