2000-2001 Model Chapter Award Winners

For several years, the Psi Chi National Council has been studying ways to recognize and reward Psi Chi chapters that meet the criteria for active chapters. The Council voted in its January 2002 meeting to initiate the Model Chapter program to identify chapters that comply with Psi Chi's basic chapter guidelines. The purpose of the Psi Chi Model Chapter program is to recognize and reward annually those chapters that consistently maintain outstanding records of membership inductions, chapter correspondence, service projects, and other criteria associated with being an ideal chapter.

All Psi Chi chapters will be eligible for the Psi Chi Model Chapter designation, but chapters do not need to submit an application form for the Model Chapter designation. All chapters submitting evidence of meeting the criteria shown above will be designated as a winner (up to the first 200 winners). They will be mailed the check for $100 and a certificate noting their achievement as a Model Chapter. Winning chapters will be eligible to win in subsequent years. Winning chapters that meet the criteria will receive a $100 award, based upon the award committee's recommendation. A list of all winning chapters will be published in Eye on Psi Chi.

In reviewing the records at the National Office, it was found that the following 19 chapters met the above criteria for the 2000-2001 year. Psi Chi hopes that these chapters will serve as role models for all other chapters to strive to meet the Psi Chi criteria for Model Chapter designation.
