The chair of the Psi Chi/Erlbaum Awards in Cognitive Science Committee, Christopher Koch, PhD, has announced the winners of the 2005-06 Erlbaum Awards. Psi Chi congratulates these 2005-06 winners of the Erlbaum Award and wishes them continued success in their education and careers. Cash awards of $500 each were presented to Ms. Metcalf and Mr. Gorman as the winners of this award. We encourage all Psi Chi members to begin now to prepare papers to submit for the 2006-07 research competition.

Annie Louise Metcalf was born in Saint Paul, Minnesota on October 18, 1979 to Bart and Shirley Metcalf. She received a BA in psychology at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. She also completed two minors in Spanish and family studies. While attending the University of St. Thomas, Ms. Metcalf was an educational assistant in the psychology department, working with professors on cognitive and social psychology research. In addition to this research, Ms. Metcalf contributed as a coauthor to a published textbook in the area of family studies. Upon graduation in 2001, Ms. Metcalf considered application to the Federal Bureau of Investigation; however, she accepted a position with Family Services. In August 2002, she began her graduate studies at Arizona State University in the school psychology PhD program. She currently resides in Phoenix, AZ and is completing her doctorate in educational psychology. Ms. Metcalf's future plans are to practice school psychology in a Phoenix metropolitan school district.

Jonathan Gorman, from Randolph, New Jersey, graduated magna cum laude in May 2006 from New York University. He received a BA with honors in psychology with minors in mathematics and music. Mr. Gorman will continue living in New York City and begin looking for jobs doing research in psychology. In addition, he will apply to graduate programs for clinical psychology. He has worked with children with ADHD and other behavioral disorders and has led training courses for parents of children with ADHD. Mr. Gorman would ultimately like to do research in family psychology and have a practice doing relationship counseling.
