Psi Chi congratulates all of the Regional Research Award Winners for 2000-01. Each of the winners listed below received a check for $300 and a certificate recognizing them as one of Psi Chi's award winners. Psi Chi initiated the Regional Research Awards during the 1993-94 year when 17 awards of $150 each were presented to Psi Chi members who submitted the best research for presentation during the regional Psi Chi programs. Because of the success of this program, the National Council quadrupled the number of awards presented during the regional conventions. In addition, the National Council voted at its August 2000 business meeting to increase the amount of each Regional Research Award to $300. This increase went into effect this past spring. The 2000-01 year was the eighth year these awards have been presented. Once again, every Psi Chi research submission accepted for presentation in a regional Psi Chi sessions is automatically considered for an award.
