- Let you know what chapter administrators can do online
- Give you a few tips & reminders
- Show you how to find assistance as a chapter officer
First though, we'd like to highlight three frequently asked questions and point you to the resources that best respond to these questions:
1) What are my responsibilities as a chapter officer?
Read the Chapter Officer Guidelines.
2) Where can I get ideas for chapter activities such as fundraisers?
Browse the Chapter Sightings section of any issue of Eye on Psi Chi for ideas, or reference the Chapter Activity Guide.
3) What can my chapter do for a service project?
View the Society Service Projects page and the chapter service project section of the Chapter Activity Guide.
Feel free to skim to the parts or sections of most interest to you. Taking 10 minutes of your time to familiarize yourself with the resources Psi Chi has available to you will equip you in becoming a more effective chapter leader.

2. COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS
|| MEMBERSHIP
Can Service or Attendance be Required for Membership?
Chapters may NOT require any service or attendance requirements for membership eligibility standards. Eligibility for Psi Chi membership is based strictly on scholastic standards.
Do Advisors Need to be Members and Pay the Membership Fee?
If your faculty advisor has not already joined Psi Chi, then she or he is required by the Psi Chi Constitution (see Article XII, Section 7) to join and pay the lifetime membership fee. Faculty advisors do not need to apply like students, but are automatically eligible for membership if they are full-time faculty members and hold a doctoral degree in psychology or a psychology-related field.
Is There a Deadline for Submitting New Members?
There is no deadline for submitting new members to the Central Office. New members can be inducted at any time. Chapters set all deadlines locally for applications and inductions.
What is Psi Chi's Policy Regarding Transfer Students, Transfer Members, or Psi Beta Members?
Since we hear this question very often, we have set up a page detailing Psi Chi's policy on transfers here.

3. CHAPTER ADMINISTRATORS
For chapter administrator-level transactions online, you will need to first get your chapter's administrator login username and password. Psi Chi sends this information to your faculty advisor, and it is up to your advisor's discretion as to whether or not they will pass the login on to you the chapter officer. If your advisor does not know your chapter's login, you can request it be emailed from this page.
Once you have your chapter's login information, log in here. We list below several of the main transactions you can do online, but we also encourage you to read pages 2-5 (chapter transactions) of our website help file with step-by-step instructions and images here (pdf file).
** While your chapter can enter new members online, these members will not be processed by the Central Office until payment is made. Acceptable forms of payment include payments made online, a check from your chapter, advisor, or school, or a money order.
*** To order merchandise online, go to the merchandise page and add the desired items and quantities to your shopping cart. Then check out to complete your order online.
4. REMINDERS
Digest Subscriptions
Stay current with Psi Chi news, deadlines, and events by subscribing to the biweekly emailed Psi Chi Digest. Any person can read each issue online, and any Psi Chi member can subscribe to the Digest (after first creating a member logon).

Encourage Submissions to Psi Chi's Awards and Grants
Many members think that their chances of winning a Psi Chi Award or Grant is quite small. In reality, your chances of winning are quite good due to the typically low number of submissions each year.

Hold One Induction Per Academic Term
Your chapter should induct eligible members each academic term. Your chapter may wish to hold informal inductions throughout the year (as students become eligible), but then in the spring recognize all those inducted throughout the year in one formal ceremony. Do not withhold membership from qualified students until next spring since it is important that those students who qualify academically to be members be provided the opportunity to participate in Psi Chi activities and be able to submit for Psi Chi awards or grants throughout the year.

Know What is Required on the Annual & Financial Reports
Review these forms now, so that when you have to file them at the end of the school year (the deadline is June 30), you will have already compiled the information you need to report.

Know What is Required to Win a Model Chapter Award
Want to earn your chapter an easy $100? Essentially, if your chapter submits all reports, votes in the national elections, inducts new members, is active in research, service, & applying to Psi Chi's Awards or Grants, and pays all its bills, then your chapter is eligible for this award. However, you should read the complete guidelines and criteria here:

Merchandise Orders: Place in Bulk and Save on Shipping
We encourage your chapter to place orders in bulk on behalf of your chapter's members once or twice a year. Ordering in bulk allows your chapter to save on shipping costs, ensures that only Psi Chi members are receiving (and wearing) Psi Chi graduation regalia, and allows your chapter to distribute to members at a chapter meeting.
