This session will explore ways that students can improve their chances of gaining admission to graduate programs by creating better application packages. In an era of increased pressures on departments to be accountable to institutional mission and responsive to quality initiatives, many psychology faculty have discovered a paucity of information to help them establish evidence about their effectiveness. Dr. Halonen won the Distinguished Teaching Award from the American Psychological Foundation for excellence in teaching and contributions to the academic psychology community. She has published four psychology textbooks as well as other teaching materials. Her innovative e-book, The Many Faces of Psychological Research in the 21st Century, coedited with Stephen F.
