In an era of increased pressures on departments to be accountable to institutional mission and responsive to quality initiatives, many psychology faculty have discovered a paucity of information to help them establish evidence about their effectiveness. The purpose of this session will be to describe some collaborative research efforts to fill that void as well as facilitate departmental goal-setting and claims for distinguished performance.

Dr. Halonen won the Distinguished Teaching Award from the American Psychological Foundation for excellence in teaching and contributions to the academic psychology community. She has published four psychology textbooks as well as other teaching materials. Her innovative e-book, The Many Faces of Psychological Research in the 21st Century, coedited with Stephen F. Davis, is online at http://teachpsych.org/resources/e-books/faces/index_faces.php.
