Reminder – Online entry of new members is required

As of January 1, 2011, the only method for submitting new members is through www.psichi.org. The Central Office began actively informing faculty advisors and chapters about this policy change in October 2010 via the Digest, the January chapter mailing, and the new member material package. If you need assistance with this requirement, please send an email to psichi@psichi.org and put ONLINE ENTRY INSTRUCTIONS in the subject line to receive a copy of instructions.

Graduate Student Opportunity – Hyde Research Grants

Proposals are being sought for Hyde Graduate Student Research Grants. These grants, each up to $500, are awarded to doctoral psychology students to support feminist research. The grants are made possible through the generosity of Janet Shibley Hyde, Ph.D., who donates the royalties from her book, Half the Human Experience, to this fund. Past recipients of Hyde Graduate Student Research Grants are not eligible to apply. Because the purpose of this award is to facilitate research that otherwise might not be possible, projects that are beyond the data analysis stage are not eligible.

For application requirements and other questions, please contact the Hyde Award Co-chairs at the following addresses Dr. Mindy J. Erchull, merchull@umw.edu or Dr. Olivia Moorehead-Slaughter, oms@parkschool.org.

Application deadlines are March 15th or September 15th for the fall deadline.

Public Service Fellowship Opportunity - City Hall Fellows

City Hall Fellows is a non-partisan nonprofit training the next generation of leaders for America's cities.  Their 12-month, paid, post-college Fellowship integrates hands-on experience working within the highest levels of local government with intensive training in how cities work.

The Fellowship is open to graduating seniors and recent grads (Class of 2007 forward) in ALL majors including psychology.  A detailed overview of the Fellowship, as well as application materials and instructions, can be found at www.cityhallfellows.org/apply.html. The application deadline is March 18, 2011. The Fellowship year begins August 1, 2011 and runs through July 2012.
