Nominations Are
Open for 2012-13 Board of Directors
Nominations are
now being accepted for the 2012-13 Board of Directors. Offices up for election
are President-Elect and Vice-Presidents of the Midwestern, Southeastern, and
Southwestern Regions. Nominations will be accepted until December 15, 2011,
at midnight EST.
All chapters may
submit one nominee for President-Elect from the following list of candidates who
qualify for this position by having served at least 2 years within the last 10
years as a regional Vice-President. Eligible President-Elect nominees are: Ngoc
H. Bui (Western 2007-11); Melanie Domenech Rodríguez (Rocky Mountain 2005-09);
Deana L. Julka (Western 2005-07);
Richard A.
Kasschau (Southwestern 2004-08); R. Eric Landrum (Rocky Mountain 2009-11); Maria
Lavooy (Southeastern 2007-10);
Betsy L. Morgan (Midwestern 2006-10); Randall E. Osborne (Southwestern
2008-12); Joseph J. Palladino (Midwestern 2000-02). The President-Elect serves
on the Board for a total of 3 years, one each as President-Elect, President and
Past-President. Travel and other requirements will be shared with the
nominees.
The open
Vice-President positions are in the Midwestern, Southeastern and Southwestern
regions. Chapters in each of those regions may nominate actively involved
faculty advisors for the Vice-President position in their region. Regional
Vice-Presidents serve a two-year term and may be reelected for an additional
two-year term. Travel and other requirements will be shared with the
nominees.
Nominations for
all open positions may be submitted via email to Executive Officer Michele Rumpf
(michele.rumpf@psichi.org) or psichi@psichi.org (Put NOMINATION in subject
line), Nominations may also be faxed to the Central Office to the Executive
Officer’s attention at 423-265-1529. For Vice-President nominees, their
institution and email must be included. The Executive Officer will contact
all nominees via email to inform them of their nomination, the requirements of
the office, and to ask them to accept or decline.
The
Nominations/Elections Committee considers the qualifications of all nominees and
proposes up to two candidates for each office up for election. Chapters will be
notified of the slate of candidates and provided with the instructions for
online voting on the Psi Chi website and via email. Voting will begin on
February 1, 2012. Any questions about the nominations or elections process
should be sent to Michele Rumpf, Executive Officer, at michele.rumpf@psichi.org

New
Membership Recruitment Contest! Four Chapters To Win a Chapter
Banner!
Is
your chapter the Psi Chi recruiting champ? Find out how you stack up against
other chapters by entering our new Member Recruitment Contest. To get ready for
the April 30, 2012 submission deadline, save the data from both this fall and
next spring on how many students your chapter invites to join Psi Chi and how
many actually become members of your chapter.
There
are two categories in which you can compete; highest percentage of invitees who
join this academic year and most improved recruitment percentage (2010-11
percentage compared to 2011-2012). If your chapter wishes to compete for most
improved, dig up your data from last year too.
The
top two chapters in both categories will win a vinyl personalized chapter
banner, currently featured on the homepage of www.psichi.org.
