CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENTS: BALLOTS MAILED Ballots and voting instructions for four (4) proposed amendments to the Psi Chi Constitution were mailed to all Psi Chi chapters and should arrive shortly. The deadline to return the ballots, using the red-letter envelope addressed to Rubino & McGeehin, is June 1, 2005. The proposed amendments, proposing chapter's rationale, and opinion of the Psi Chi National Council were published on page 33 of the Winter 2005 issue of Eye on Psi Chi. All opinions presented in support or opposition of these amendments were then printed on pages 15-18 of the Spring 2005 issue of Eye on Psi Chi. You may also view these opinions, as well as a link to the proposed amendments, here: http://www.psichi.org/news/article_165.asp
AWARDS DEADLINE: MAY 1, 2005 Four Psi Chi Awards, the Allyn & Bacon, Erlbaum, and Guilford Awards, and the new Kay Wilson Leadership Award, are all due May 1, 2005 (online submission). Review eligibility, guidelines, and more here: http://www.psichi.org/news/article_163.asp
ANNUAL & FINANCIAL REPORTS DUE Each year, chapters must file the Chapter Annual Report and the Chapter Financial Report by June 30. Why the early reminder? Since some chapters report their academic year ending in late April or early May, chapters are thus being given early notice to file these reports. These reports may be filed online (preferred method) or a hard copy may be mailed. http://www.psichi.org/chapters/reports.asp [administrator login will be required] http://www.psichi.org/downloads/home.asp#Chapter
TRANSITION REMINDER The National Office receives feedback each year how chapter officers from one academic year graduate without ensuring a smooth transition to the incoming set of next year's officers. So, if your chapter hasn't already done so, be sure to elect next year's officers for your chapter now. Also, make sure current officers share transitional information (such as chapter financial records and chapter email account information) and apprise the new officers of their responsibilities and duties. Further information on transition and officer guidelines can be accessed here: http://www.psichi.org/chapters/off_guidelines.asp
