NATIONAL ELECTION: PSI CHI NATIONAL COUNCIL
Ballots for candidates for the 2006-07 Psi Chi National Council were mailed last week to all active chapters--your chapter should receive its ballot shortly. Your chapter's vote is important as it determines the leadership of Psi Chi and thus Psi Chi policy. The deadline to return the ballot is March 15, 2006. Read about this year's election here:

APA/TOPSS ETHNIC MINORITY RECRUITING PROJECT
The Psi Chi National Council encourages chapters to participate in the APA/TOPSS Ethnic Minority Recruiting Project. The goal of this program is to encourage ethnic minority high school students to consider pursuing careers in psychology by introducing them to ethnic minority role models in psychology and providing them with career information. SUMMER RESEARCH AND NSF/REU GRANT PROGRAMS
Applications for these two grant programs both come due near the end of March. Both grant programs fund undergraduate Psi Chi members for the purpose of conducting research during the summer. The deadline for the Summer Research Grants is March 30, whereas the deadline for the NSF/REU Grants is April 1.

PSI CHI IN THE WORLD
Psi Chi will induct its 500,000th member in February or March 2006. With that many lifetime members and over 1,000 chapters in the United States and Canada, Psi Chi impacts the world at large on a daily basis.
