2009 NATIONAL LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE
Psi Chi is hosting its second National Leadership Conference (NLC) on January 2-4, 2009, in Nashville, TN. The goal of the NLC is to develop and enhance participants' leadership skills and their impact on the field of psychology. Registration begins September 17 at 12:00 noon EST online. No paper applications will be accepted for conference registration. Learn more about the conference, keynote speakers Betty Siegel and Alice Eagly, the program, and more here.

NATIONAL SERVICE PROJECTS
Psi Chi encourages you to participate in one of Psi Chi's five national service projects during the upcoming school year. Possible projects include local shelter involvement, raising funds for the Archives of the History of American Psychology, food drives, Habitat for Humanity, and UNICEF.

PSYCHOLOGY SYNERGY CONFERENCE
On October 17-18, 2008, Carroll Community College and McDaniel College will host a national Psychology Synergy Conference for students and faculty members at 2-year and 4-year institutions. The conference will feature prominent speakers, research presentations by students and faculty members, symposia dealing with issues of interest to students and instructors, and a workshop on making the transition from Psi Beta to Psi Chi. MISSOURI UNDERGRADUATE PSYCHOLOGY CONFERENCE
The fourth annual Missouri Undergraduate Psychology Conference will be November 14, 2008 at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Missouri. This year’s theme will be “Experiential Learning & Applied Knowledge.”  Dr. Grady Bray, a internationally known disaster psychologist, will deliver the keynote address entitled The Trauma That Does Not Bleed. There is a call for presentations on Psych in Drama as well as a new, faculty round-table session and an expanded feedback system is designed to provide additional information for both presenters and sponsoring faculty members. NEW MEMBERS, ADVISORS, OFFICERS, & MEMBERS LISTED ONLINE
You can now download the changes and additions to the National Office’s list of Psi Chi officers, faculty advisors, school names, and new members from the Psi Chi website.

SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGY ESSAY CONTEST
The School Psychology Program at Texas A&M University is sponsoring an essay contest that awards a prize of $1,500. Undergraduate students would write an essay of no more than 7 double-spaced pages in 12-point font on one of the five eligible topics. Information is being mailed to each Psi Chi chapter from Texas A&M University in the next few weeks. For more information, please contact Dr. Cynthia Riccio at criccio@tamu.edu.
