Online Call for Nominations for Psi Chi National Council
Psi Chi will open the process of receiving Online Nominations for the upcoming national elections on Friday, October 31, 2008. Chapters should hold a meeting to allow members the opportunity to vote prior to the Chapter nominating an individual for a position. Chapters may submit their nominations by having their chapter administrators log onto the Psi Chi website and submit the online nomination. Nominations will be accepted for President-Elect (term begins at the 2009 National Convention) and Vice-President for three regions (Eastern, Rocky Mountain, and Western) (term begins July 1, 2009).
All chapters may submit a nominee for President-Elect from the list of candidates who qualify for this position by having served at least 2 years within the last 10 years as a regional vice-president. The list of eligible candidates is available on the website. Each chapter may nominate one candidate from this list for the President-Elect position. After your chapter submits an online nomination, an email will be sent to your candidate notifying the person of the nomination. A web link is provided to the nominee allowing the nominee to accept or decline the nomination. If the nominee accepts, he or she will be required to provide position and biographical statements. Nominees will need to submit this information by December 15 in order to be counted as valid.
In addition to President-Elect, chapters in three regions (Eastern, Rocky Mountain, and Western) may nominate an actively involved Psi Chi faculty advisor for the vice-president position in their region. Please include the email address of the candidate and a description of why you chose the individual to represent your region. After you complete the form online, an email will be sent to your candidate notifying the person of the nomination. A web link is provided to the nominee allowing the nominee to accept or decline the nomination. If the nominee accepts, he or she will be required to provide position and biographical statements. Nominees will need to submit this information by December 15.
On or before February 1, election ballot information regarding the candidates for Psi Chi's National Council and how to vote online will be sent to all Psi Chi chapters.
