SuperLab Research Grants

8/8/2003

The new Psi Chi/SuperLab Research Grant program is sponsored jointly by Psi Chi and Cedrus, makers of SuperLab experimental lab software. The purpose of this program is to further the goals of Psi Chi by providing annual grants to aid one undergraduate and one graduate Psi Chi member in conducting computer-based research. Grant winners will receive a copy of SuperLab software and a response pad from Cedrus. No other research costs are supported by this grant.

This program is also intended to introduce students to the process of applying for a research grant. This process involves writing and compiling a certain amount of information; however, it is not Psi Chi's intention to overwhelm the student. Submissions should include the necessary components, well-written and compiled, but these components do not have to be completed with as much detail or comprehensiveness as a standard, full-blown research grant proposal.

The first author of the proposal shall serve as Project Director and must be an undergraduate or graduate student and a Psi Chi member in good standing. At least one of the proposers shall be a faculty member who will oversee the project. While proposals with multiple student authors shall be accepted, the grant itself shall be made to the Psi Chi student member who serves as the Project Director.

The deadline for SuperLab Grant submissions is October 1 (postmark), and grant recipients will be notified by January 15. Psi Chi encourages all undergraduate and graduate student members interested in computer-based research to be sure to apply for this new grant program.
