Graduate

Psi Chi is dedicated to helping students apply for graduate school, navigate the transition to their new school, and thrive throughout their graduate-level education. In addition to lifetime membership benefits available to all, here are specific perks and opportunities for graduate students like you.
Graduate Student Financial Support
A multitude of assistance is earmarked specifically for graduate-level Psi Chi members. This includes scholarships, awards, and research and travel grants. View a complete list of upcoming programs and deadlines.
Research and Publication Opportunities
Psi Chi Journal of Psychological Research is a perfect place to publish your research, and receive valuable and supportive feedback based on your academic level as a graduate student. Our online Conducting Research resource can also help you with finding collaborative research projects and online participants for your studies.
Membership Transfers Made Easy
Did you know that it won’t cost you a penny to transfer your membership to your new graduate institution? Simply ask the faculty advisor at your new institution to complete an online transfer of membership form located on their Chapter Admin page.
Networking at Conventions
In addition to presenting posters and papers at regional conventions, you also have the opportunity to help shape future Psi Chi convention programming. Consider contacting your Regional Vice-President to suggest potential programming or to see if you can assist your current Regional Steering Committee with convention preparations.
Stay Involved at Your Chapter
All chapters greatly appreciate support and participation by graduate students on campus. Some chapters also allow graduate students to run for officer positions. Check with your advisor to see if you are eligible for one of these great leadership positions.
Mentor Other Students
Consider all the ways in which you could gain valuable mentorship experiences while participating with your local chapter. We’ve got a wealth of free information available that you can share about Careers in Psychology, Going to Graduate School, and much more. These materials will come in handy for teaching your first undergrad courses, too.

"I looked forward to becoming a member because I believed the organization would benefit me as an undergraduate student. Now as a graduate student, I realize the organization continues to benefit me in multiple ways."

Chanel Murphy
California State University Sacramento (class of 2007)

"I loved the communication and support that Psi Chi gave to students who are passionate about psychology—during school and beyond. Plus, reading Psi Chi's publication Eye on Psi Chi lead me to pursue psychological research as a career; I even got chills at the thought of being a researcher. I am starting graduate school this fall to pursue an MA (and possibly PhD) in Evaluation and Research in Applied Social Psychology.
