Dear Psi Chi members,
hope this note finds you doing well and enjoying the start of fall. The
purpose of this email blast is to update you on some rapidly
approaching deadlines related to the Southeastern Psychological
Association (SEPA) conference.
SEPA will be held from March 5-8,
2014 in Nashville, TN at the brand new Omni Nashville Hotel in the
heart of downtown. Learn more at www.sepaonline.com.
Presenting your research
are two venues for presenting your research at SEPA; the regular
portion (SEPA) or the undergraduate portion, sponsored by CEPO
(Committee for Equality of Professional Opportunity) and Psi Chi. Your
first decision is where you want to present your research.
Why pick the REGULAR SEPA conference?
- The deadline is earlier, so this is an ideal outlet for research that is already complete.
- Deadline to submit abstract is October 8th
- You will not know when your poster is scheduled for presentation until late 2013 or early 2014.
Why pick the CEPO/ Psi Chi undergraduate poster session?
- Your presentation will be listed in the regular SEPA conference booklet.
What do I do if I pick the REGULAR SEPA submission?
can be found at www.sepaonline.com. Submissions will be accepted until
noon on October 8, 2013. You will submit through the Electronic
Submission System following the instructions found at
www.sepaonline.com. There are very specific guidelines for submission,
and the system has changed slightly from past year. Give yourself plenty
of time to apply.
What if I pick the CEPO/ Psi Chi sponsored undergraduate session?
CEPO/ Psi Chi portion of the conference is specifically designed for
undergraduate students conducting independent research under the
guidance of a faculty member. We are especially interested in Psi Chi
members presenting! We have been working hard to get the submission
system online this year to make the process easier for submitters and
more efficient for reviewers.
- Ideal outlet for research that will not be complete until early November.
- Deadline to express intent to submit is October 8th. Deadline to submit abstract is November 15th.
- Projects with a Psi Chi member as first author will be considered for a Regional Research Award.
poster sessions will be scheduled for early morning on Thurs. 3/6 and
Fri. 3/7. This is your best option if you need to know when you’ll be
presenting well in advance.

Please be in touch if you have any questions or if I can do
anything to assist you. I’ll be sending more information about travel
