Biographical Information

Jon Grahe, PhD
Pacific Lutheran University

Jon Grahe is a professor of psychology at Pacific Lutheran University, WA, with 18 years teaching experience, finishing his fourth year as Western Regional Vice-President for Psi Chi. He also serves as a councilor in the Psychology Division of the Council for Undergraduate Research and is the managing executive editor for The Journal of Social Psychology. He is a passionate advocate for increasing undergraduate participation in crowd-sourcing science opportunities such as the Collaborative Replications and Education Project and the International Situations Project and a general supporter of open science initiatives (see his posts to the Open Science Collaboration Blog

When not pitching the benefits of undergraduate research to anyone within earshot, he likes to play music with his two teenage children. The family band, "Maggie and the Greys” played at a recent open mic for the first time ever. Most other free time is spent outdoors, often camping or hiking at nearby Mt. Rainier.

Dan Corts, PhD
Augustana College, IL

Dr. Corts discovered psychology at Belmont University where he earned a BS, and then completed a PhD in cognition at the University of Tennessee. After a post doc at Furman University, he went to Augustana College. He has been involved with Psi Chi for over 10 years serving on the Midwestern Steering Committee and Grants and Awards Committee, as a consulting editor for the Journal, and completing one term as Midwestern Vice-President.

R. Eric Landrum, PhD
Boise State University (ID)

R. Eric Landrum is a professor of psychology at Boise State University, receiving his PhD in cognitive psychology from Southern Illinois University–Carbondale. His research interests center on the educational conditions that best facilitate student success and the use of SoTL strategies to advance the efforts of scientist-educators. He has over 300 professional presentations at conferences and published over 25 books/book chapters, and has published over 75 professional articles in scholarly, peer-reviewed journals. Eric has worked with over 300 undergraduate research assistants and taught over 13,000 students in 23 years at Boise State. In 2014, APA President Nadine Kaslow presented Eric with an APA Presidential Citation in honor of his work in advancing the teaching of psychology.

Eric is the lead author of The Psychology Major: Career Options and Strategies for Success (5th ed., 2013), authored Undergraduate Writing in Psychology: Learning to Tell the Scientific Story (2nd ed., 2012), and Finding A Job With a Psychology Bachelor's Degree: Expert Advice for Launching Your Career (2009). With the launch of a new APA journal in 2015—Scholarship of Teaching and Learning in Psychology—he will serve as one of its inaugural coeditors. Eric served as Vice-President for the Rocky Mountain region of Psi Chi (2009–2011). He is a member of the American Psychological Association, a fellow in APA’s Division Two (Society for the Teaching of Psychology/STP), served as STP secretary (2009–2011), and served as the 2014 STP President. In April 2016, he becomes President of the Rocky Mountain Psychological Association.

Martha S. Zlokovich, PhD
Executive Director

A high school teacher in Pensacola, Florida, inspired Dr. Martha S. Potter Zlokovich to pursue psychology as a career. She completed her BA in psychology at UCLA, and MS and PhD in developmental psychology at the University of Florida.

Dr. Zlokovich joined Psi Chi in 2008 as its second Executive Director, leaving Southeast Missouri State University after teaching there for 17 years. This move, however, was not her first involvement with Psi Chi. She served as chapter advisor since 1993, as Midwestern Region Vice-President (1998-2000), and as National President of Psi Chi (2003-04). In 1996, Southeast’s Chapter won the Ruth Hubbard Cousins National Chapter of the Year Award, and several chapter members won Psi Chi Regional Research Awards at MPA and/or had their research published in the Psi Chi Journal.

At Southeast, Dr. Zlokovich taught Child Development, Adolescent Development, Lifespan Development, Advanced Child Psychology, and Introductory Psychology for Majors. She also served as chair of the Psychology Department and interim chair of the Center for Scholarship in Teaching and Learning. Her research interests have focused on student study habits, study beliefs, and persistence to graduation as well as adolescent and young adult contraception and sexuality.

Dr. Zlokovich and her husband Neil have two sons, a daughter-in-law, and a granddaughter. Aaron (Truman State University, 2010), Stephanie (Institute for Integrative Nutrition), and their daughter Anniston Scott live in Birmingham, AL, and Matthew (University of Alabama, 2014) lives in Nashville, TN.
