What Is the Psi Chi Chapter Challenge?
You asked Psi Chi Central Office for chapter fund-raising help, and now we've got the answer! The Psi Chi Chapter Challenge is an easy way for you to fund-raise for your honor society and your chapter at the same time!

Watch this Recorded Webinar that covers all the details of the Challenge!

Your chapter will get 10% back of what your chapter raises to support Psi Chi's awards, grants, scholarships, publications, and programming. This makes it easy for your chapter to support all Psi Chi member programs.

How do you do this?
Simply send e-mails (we provide an example) to 10 family members and/or friends who support your pursuit of a psychology degree and appreciate what you accomplished to become a member of Psi Chi!

The Chapter Challenge will take place March 1–April 30. All donations are welcome at
If your chapter agrees to take the Chapter Challenge, follow these four, easy steps:

1. Discuss the Chapter Challenge with your chapter’s officers and Faculty Advisor(s).

  • Plan the meeting at which it will be introduced to your chapter.
  • Decide whether you will ask members to participate on the spot, or give them materials to take home and complete the challenge later.
  • Decide how you will communicate the Chapter Challenge to members who were not able to attend the meeting.
  • Draft an e-mail for your chapter members (we have provided a sample; all you have to do is copy and paste). Officers could include their own personal reason why Psi Chi matters to them and share the e-mails they will be sending to their friends and family when explaining to members what to do.
  • Discuss how the chapter might use the funds raised, and bring ideas to a chapter meeting for discussion and vote by the members. Your chapter can use these funds for expenses such as speaker fees, a chapter social event, or member travel to your regional psychology convention. Having decided on a specific purpose for chapter funds raised before starting the challenge could motivate more giving by more people!

2. Present the Chapter Challenge at a chapter meeting.

3. Ask your chapter members to e-mail the 10 people who support their psychology education during the challenge timeframe.

4. Remind members to complete the challenge at least two or three times over March and April.

At the end of the Challenge, Psi Chi will do the following:

1. Send a check to your chapter, giving back 10% of what your chapter raised in the challenge.

2. Recognize the top challenge chapters via all Psi Chi social media and on

Good luck and we hope your chapter has great success with the Chapter Challenge!

Thank you for ALL you do for Psi Chi.
You are helping to build the future of psychology!
