Have you heard about the new ChatGPT language-generating AI and its implications for the classroom and science of psychology? Read or listen to our two latest PsychEverywhere episodes to find out what this new technology might mean for your learning, productivity, and career.

Learning and Teaching With ChatGPT?

Dr. Morton Ann Gernsbacher joins the show to discuss a classroom assignment that will help students (or anyone really) to familiarize themselves with ChatGPT and learn to use it professionally and ethically. Fears are high that this software could adversely affect learning and classroom integrity, so Dr. Gernsbacher addresses this too.

Exploring the Role of ChatGPT in Psychology

I interviewed ChatGPT (yes, we had our first nonhuman guest!) to uncover its views on psychological science and examples of how students and professionals can use ChatGPT. Discover how to cite this software and whether professors can effectively identify when students use ChatGPT. For fun, I also tested ChatGPT’s limits, sometimes asking it to rhyme, impersonate celebrities, and even speak to me as if I was five years old!

If you decide to use ChatGPT, these episodes will help you avoid some basic mistakes and gain ideas about many of its creative applications. Thanks to Psi Chi, audio and written versions are both available for free.

Also, check out our other Season 5 episodes for 2023 about Love Additions and Creativity in Counseling.
