Dr. Denmark is widely known for her work in gender roles, leadership, and human rights. During her remarkable career, she served many distinguished roles, including President and Distinguished Member of Psi Chi as well as President of the American Psychological Association, New York State Psychological Association, and International Council of Psychologists.

Each year, Psi Chi proudly provides the Florence L. Denmark Faculty Advisor Award in her honor, which recognizes one individual who demonstrates exceptional enthusiasm for and commitment to students, psychology, and Psi Chi’s purpose.

Dr. Denmark’s influence will continue to be felt through this award and through the countless lives she touched with her mentorship, advocacy, and vision.

She will be deeply missed. Our heartfelt condolences are with her family, friends, colleagues, and the many individuals whose lives were enriched by her extraordinary work and enduring spirit.

Psi Chi chapters recently voted to approve the 2023 Constitution Changes as proposed by the Board of Directors. Moving forward, Board nominees will have until December 1 to submit all nominations materials. Thank you to all who participated in this decision. Constitution Changes Proposal

Dear Psi Chi Member,

Psi Chi's Board of Directors has approved amendments to the Psi Chi Constitution, shown in Proposed Amendments below in bold italic. Chapters and members were invited to submit a letter for or against the amendments by emailing it to President Dr. Merry Sleigh by June 30, 2023. No letters of opposition were received.

• July 31: Psi Chi emails the proposed amendments and informs members that no letters of opposition were received.
• August 10: Psi Chi sends chapters the link for voting on the amendments.
• August 10–September 30: Advisors record their chapter's vote on the amendments.

Advisors: Check back here beginning on August 10 for a link to submit your chapter's vote.

Rationale: The nomination materials currently required are a 250-word bio and a 250-word position statement. Moving the deadline for these materials to December 1 allows two weeks' time after nominations close to obtain these materials from nominees.

Proposed amendments to: Article VI. Board of Directors; Section 3. Board of Directors Officers

1. Officers. The officers of the Society shall be the President, President-Elect, Past-President, Regional Vice-Presidents.
2. Nominations. On or before October 1 of each year, the Psi Chi Headquarters shall invite each chapter to submit nominees for the offices of President-Elect and Vice-President. A Nominations/Elections committee representative will ask nominees to submit full nomination materials as determined by the Board, with a deadline on or before December 1. The Nomination/Election Committee shall consider the qualifications of all candidates for office and propose at least one candidate for each office to be filled.

At this time, we are seeking input on the proposed amendments. If three-fourths of the chapters that vote between August 10–September 30 approve the amendment, it will go into effect immediately.
