An Unforgiving Rationale Against Organizational Dishonesty

Prior arguments against unethical organizational conduct have hinged on the monetary and reputational consequences of being caught. We propose that unethical leadership can result in severe internal costs for an organization, regardless of whether the unethicality is detected. Our studies reveal that unethical organizational leadership results in compromised employee performance, increased turnover, and increased employee fraud toward the organization.
