Psi Chi Journal of Psychological Research |
Choose Psi Chi Journal firstSubmit Your ResearchSearch by Category or AuthorJournal Scope. Because Psi Chi includes members across the entire field of psychology, this quarterly journal accepts empirical manuscripts from any subdiscipline in psychology. This includes but is not limited to research in social, clinical, experimental, gender, personality, cognitive, diversity, health, counseling, developmental, and educational psychology. Eligibility. Undergraduate, graduate, and faculty submissions are welcome year-round. Only one author is required to be a Psi Chi member (either the first author or a coauthor). There are no costs to be published. Peer Review Process. Experience our supportive, educational peer-review process, which is double-blind to safeguard both authors' and reviewers' identities from each other. After an initial review for relevance to the scope of the journal, the editor will assign an associate editor (AE) to serve as the point person for the review process. If the AE determines that a manuscript can be sent out for peer review, it will be assigned to our internal APA Style reviewer and two or three external doctoral-level content reviewers. Based on the reviews, the AE will make a recommendation regarding the publication, and the editor will make the official decision (reject, major revisions, conditional accept, or accept). Typically, editorial decisions are given within 90 days after the review process begins. Special Issues and Editorials. The editor may choose to publish a special issue addressing topics or methods of broad interest. In such cases, calls for submissions will be announced. The editor may oversee the issue or assign a specific editor. All special issue manuscripts undergo the same peer-review process described above. The editor also regularly invites editorials on topics with broad interest that relate to the research or publication process. These invited editorials are reviewed by the editor and managing editor. Online Dissemination and Indexing. To enhance the visibility of authors' research, articles are indexed in PsycINFO, EBSCO, Crossref, and Google Scholar databases. Full text for all published articles are publically available at no cost to members and nonmembers alike. Psi Chi's high visibility across the field and dedication to transparent, replicable research practices makes our journal the place to submit your research today. ContactsEditor: Steven V.
