Elizabeth "Bethy" Campbell, PhD
Elizabeth “Bethy” Campbell is an assistant professor at Whitworth University and a practicing licensed psychologist in Spokane, Washington. She earned her Ph.D. in counseling psychology with an emphasis in marriage and family therapy from University of North Texas. With more than a decade of experience in psychology education and applied practice, her primary areas of specialization include career development and counselor training.
An accomplished educator, scholar, and clinician, Dr. Campbell brings energy, innovation, and enthusiasm to all her endeavors. Dedicated to servant leadership and passionate about inspiring psychology students toward success, her relational approach to student mentorship and professional collaborations yield valuable results: she was honored by Whitworth as the recipient of the Faculty Service Award (2015), Outstanding Vocational Integration Award (2014), and students’ choice for Most Influential Professor three years running (2014–2016).
Dr. Campbell’s enthusiastic dedication to service involves a solid record of increasing responsibility in Psi Chi leadership. Routinely selected for positions, her Psi Chi contributions are extensive: member (2003–present); chapter vice president and president (2003–2005); chapter faculty advisor (2012–present); reviewer for award, conference, and journal submissions (2012–present); chair and copresenter of Psi Chi programming at the Western Psychological Association Convention (2013–2017) and Eastern Psychological Association Convention (2017); two-term Western Region Steering Committee member (2013–present); Eye on Psi Chi contributing coauthor (2016); and Faculty Advisor Support and Resources Committee member (2016–2017).
